Jacqueline Godwin
I moved to Lexington in 2016 from Virginia, so I’m not a native South Carolinian, but I got here as soon as I could!
I always knew I wanted to teach, so I worked hard to receive my bachelor’s degree in English and minor in German from Radford University. I went on to earn a master’s degree in Teaching of Writing and Literature from George Mason University. I taught ninth and tenth grade English and photojournalism for six years in Fairfax, Virginia; I cherish the memories I have from my time there!
When I’m not teaching, I’m most likely at a ball field watching one of my three boys or three nephews play The Sports. I am surrounded by boys, so I love to bring my dog, Beezus, with me whenever I can. She shares me with my husband, Ryan.
I’m looking forward to instilling a love of reading and writing in my students. I understand they will initially pretend to be unimpressed with my dance moves and fluency in teenage slang, but it's only a matter of time before I win them over. Bet.
