My name is Peggy Haertel, and I am very excited to be back in middle school at Gilbert Middle! I've lived most of my life in Charleston (James and Johns Islands), and I'm happy to be living where there are hills and rural roads again. I'm a graduate of the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!). This is my 13th year teaching and my 8th in the library. I have 3 daughters and love traveling with them. The mountains are my favorite destination, but I love exploring new places. I have ALWAYS had a passion for reading, and I LOVE talking about books and encouraging students to find a book they WANT to read. I look forward to working with all our middle school Warriors to find the perfect books this year.
