My Professional Passions & Strengths 

Jeanne Gibbs states, “Every school should be a model home, a complete community actively developing future compassionate citizens capable of creating, leading, and contributing to the kind of democratic communities-in which we all long to live.” I feel that my greatest contributions and accomplishments in education are reflected in that statement. For some students, school is the one thing that is constant in their lives. I make every effort to make sure that my classroom is like a home filled with a climate of safety, stability, and the love for learning. High expectations are set, but it is through making connections they are reached. When you make connections with a child, this allows them to feel connected to the world around them and to see the potential they have to do something miraculous. I teach today, proud to be an educator who creates connections with my learners!

My Personal Passions 

On a more personal note, I was born and raised in Spartanburg, SC, but have resided in the Midlands for the last seventeen years.  Our family lives just across the dam in Irmo.  I have two children, Camryn and Cade-Brooks.  Camryn attends the University of South Carolina and Cade-Brooks is a learner at New Providence Elementary. Along with teaching 4th grade, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, Carolina Gamecock sports, Pinterest, cooking, reading, crafting, listening to all genres of music, and shopping!
