Message From Our Principal
Friday October 16, 2020
We are so very excited that our 3rd-5th grade face-to-face students will be joining us on Monday, October 19, for the 4+1 instructional week! We will have all of our face-to-face students starting Monday! This is exciting! With more students coming, please remember that your child should arrive wearing a mask, Monday through Thursday. Fridays will still be e-Learning. We will continue social distancing and all students will have plexiglass as an additional safety measure. Car riders may arrive starting at 7:00 a.m. but they will sit in the halls socially distanced until 7:15 a.m. when all students go into the classroom. If you can arrive between 7:15 and 7:50 a.m., then your child will go directly into his/her classroom to be with their class family. The tardy bell continues to ring at 7:50 a.m.
Dismissal next week will continue as we have done these past two weeks. Primary students (4K-2nd grades) with older siblings or car pool members will be dismissed after buses at 2:00 p.m. The elementary students (3rd-5th grades) will be dismissed at 2:20 p.m. Parents or guardians of these 3rd-5th grade students should not arrive until 2:15 p.m. to pick up these 3rd-5th grade students. This staggers our dismissal so that we can socially distance class families outside while also avoiding huge numbers of cars blocking Midway Road.
Please remember that it is important that your child brings his or her device to school each day. It needs to be fully charged. These devices will continue to be used to support class instruction as this practice and the learning of different uses are very important should we ever go virtual due to weather or health concerns. The weather makeup days were removed from our academic calendar as we will continue such an absence virtually.
This is truly an exciting time! I have visited with classes, face-to-face and virtually, and our young Mustangs are truly engaged and thriving! I am a very proud Principal!
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the cooler weather to come! Read a great book and spend time outside!
