Mrs. Smith joined Lexington Middle in 2021 and opened Lakeside Middle in 2022. She was named Teacher of the Year during the 2023-2024 school year and was a top 10 district finalist. She is thrilled to continue to serve as a 6th grade Social Studies teacher at Lakeside Middle and is passionate about building lasting relationships with her students and their families. She has been in education for 17 years, with experience at both the elementary and middle school level. Mrs. Smith holds a B.M. in Music Education, an Elementary Education certificate, an M.Ed. in Educational Administration, and a Gifted and Talented Endorsement. Outside of teaching, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son. She also loves to sing karaoke, cheer on her USC Gamecocks, and take spontaneous road trips. Mrs. Smith is looking forward to making this year at Lakeside Middle the best year yet!
