D'Anthony Morrison
Math Teacher
Mr. Morrison is honored to continue to have the opportunity to meet and support learners, after a decade of being able to do so, to reach their potential as they move forward in their academic and life journeys. This will be the 6th year he has taught mathematics in Lexington School District 1, after teaching in Richland School District 1 and Judson Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas.
Mr. Morrison has also had the opportunity to engage in coaching ventures that include being an Assistant Coach for Football, Basketball and Track and a Head Coach in Girls Basketball, where he has had a team have two opportunities to go to the Lexington District 1 Girls Championship Game and garner a Championship Win in the 2021-2022 season. His favorite quote, "Sometimes it is the people no one imagines anything of who do the things who no one can imagine", from noted computer programmer Alan Turing, has a way of not only exemplifying the aforementioned championship but his belief in the potential of learners .
Coming from a family of military veterans who served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years each, Mr. Morrison has an appreciation for advocating for your personal growth and the growth of those around you, which aids in the collaborative effort to improve the community you are a part of. He also understands that you bring your own unique perspectives and experiences, even though you may have connections like the connection he has with his twin sister who has a Doctorate in Computer Science.
He enjoys teaching math to his students and getting a chance to help them as they grow into future citizens who will help change the world for the generations that follow. He also believes that each of these learners has the potential to shape a wonderful future in the years to come. That will help to guide the generations that will follow their example for the benefit of each of the future communities that they will collaborate with to make the world a better place through the citizenship that they will have the opportunity to learn.
