Social Studies Teacher

Mrs. Leitzsey is proud to be a part of the Raider family! She has been in Lexington One since 2011 and opened Lakeside Middle in 2022. She teaches sixth grade social studies and loves that it gives her an opportunity each day to be creative with her teaching strategies to help bring history to life. She believes that for students to be successful, it starts with building relationships, and so she enjoys connecting with her sixth graders and getting to know their strengths, areas of growth, and hobbies and interests.

Mrs. Leitzsey is originally from Lexington and went to the University of South Carolina for both her undergraduate and graduate degrees. When she's not at Lakeside, she loves spending time with her husband and two elementary daughters, Ellison and Addie. They enjoy biking at the beaches, finding day hikes in the upstate, seeing the Braves play in Atlanta, and spending lots of time with family and friends. She also enjoy reading, Barre3 workouts, Loveland coffee, watching the Office, jigsaw puzzles, cross-stitching, hand-lettering projects, and any chance she gets to go to Disney World!
