Carolyn Bauerle
I believe that every student has multiple strengths and some have yet to be discovered. Along our journey together, I assist my students to feel more positive about learning and themselves as a learner. I received my undergraduate degree in psychology, with a concentration in neurology and development, from George Washington University. I received my graduate degree from George Mason University in Special Education with a concentration in learning and emotional disabilities. I am certified in Multi-categorical Special Education K-12, Middle School Language Arts, and English.
I began my teaching career in Fairfax County in Northern Virginia. I moved to Pennsylvania where I taught and lived with my family for many years before moving to South Carolina. I have 3 children, 2 daughters and a son. My son has struggled with emotional disabilities which impacted his ability to learn in the classroom. I openly discuss this so others may know that I have sat on both side of the table, as a parent and a teacher. I believe that every child does the best the can every day, although sometimes they do need positive encouragement. In my time away from teaching I love to spend time with my family on the water, traveling, learning, and doing anything with our dog(s).
