Hi there! My name is Hillarie Collins and I am thrilled to be teaching Eagles at Saxe Gotha Elementary this year! This is my 16th year teaching. I have spent the last 11 years teaching at Lake Murray Elementary School, in Lexington School District 1. I grew up in Columbia, SC and graduated with a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from USC, Aiken and my M.Ed. in Educational Leadership & Administration from USC, Columbia. I am certified in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, and Elementary Principal, and have my Read to Succeed Literacy Teacher endorsement. I am currently working towards certification in Gifted and Talented. In my career I have taught in Richland One, Spartanburg 7, SC Charter School District, and Lexington 1. I have taught 4K, 5K, 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades, as well as been a science lab teacher and a curriculum coordinator for a school. I guess you could say I've done a little bit of everything. This year I will be teaching the Eagles classes for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes at SGE and the 3rd grade Eagles classes at Lake Murray Elementary. I am married to Mac and we have two kids Camden (8 years old) and Emmie Kate (5 years old). When I'm not teaching I enjoy reading, gardening, stand-up paddle boarding, crafting, selling Mary Kay, and spending time with my family and friends.
