Hello! This will be my 13th year teaching and my 3rd year at SGE! I love our Shining Stars family and have the pleasure of teaching 2nd grade. I have a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership, a Master’s degree in Elementary Education, and my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I was born and raised in southwest Ohio, lived in Georgia for five years, and moved to South Carolina in 2020. I live here with my husband and two dogs. I enjoy Cincinnati Bengals football and DIY projects. Some of my favorite things are coffee, Target, and Chick-Fil-A! 

Hello! My name is Haylee Boltjes, and I am thrilled to say this is my 18th year of teaching elementary school. I grew up in West Columbia, SC and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from USC Aiken and a Master of Education in Divergent Learning from Columbia College. I began my teaching career in Lexington School District 2 (Nine Years), before coming to Saxe Gotha Elementary School. I love teaching 2nd Grade! Currently, I live in Lexington, SC with my husband, Paul, and my three children (Brantlee, Caralee, and Thomas). I enjoy drinking Dunkin', shopping, reading, and spending time with my family.

Hello! My name is Jennifer Byrum. This is my 17th year of teaching elementary school. I grew up in High Point, NC. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Columbia College and a Masters of Teaching from the University of South Carolina. I began my teaching career in Lexington District Four teaching seventh grade at Sandhills Middle. I taught thirteen years in Lexington District Two where I taught fifth grade, second grade and served first and second graders in Reading Intervention. This will be my fifth year teaching in Lexington School District 1. This year, I will be teaching second grade. Currently, I live in Lexington with my husband, David and our two rescue dogs, Penny and Bailey. I enjoy exercising, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Hello, my name is Mrs. Hornsby and I teach Second Grade at SGES. This is my 5th year teaching. I graduated in 2010 from Columbia College. I have two children who are both girls. I am married and have lived in South Carolina my whole life. I hope this is a great for everyone!!!
