I have been teaching visual art since 2000 when I began my career by opening White Knoll High School. I have since also taught at Spring Valley High in Richland Two. I earned both a degree in studio art (1997) and my master’s in art education (1999) from the University of South Carolina. In 2007, I received National Board Certification, earning renewal in 2017. Over my career, I have been an active member of the South Carolina Art Education Association, serving on the SCAEA board in multiple capacities for ten years (Central Region coordinator, Secondary Level coordinator, and secretary). I am also currently the Tri-DAC summer program visual arts coordinator. Most importantly, I am excited to begin a new chapter at Beechwood Middle this year where I can share with students my passion for comics, Star Wars, and all things art!
