Green named principal of Carolina Springs Middle School

LEXINGTON, S.C. — At their April 16 Board Meeting, the Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees approved Patrice Green as the new principal of Carolina Springs Middle School. Green currently serves as an assistant principal of Clover High School in Clover, South Carolina. She replaces Brice Cockfield, who is moving to the position of principal of Meadow Glen Elementary effective July 1, 2024.

Lexington One Superintendent Dr. Gerrita Postlewait said, “Patrice Green is an experienced instructional leader and educator who focuses on team leadership, relationship building and coaching within a collaborative team environment. She is dedicated to establishing connections between the school, staff, families and the community in order to guide all students as they learn, grow and excel.”

Green began her teaching career in 2007 as a seventh-grade world history teacher in Lee County before moving to York Middle School in 2008 to teach social studies. During her eight years at YMS, she was selected as the school’s 2015–16 Teacher of the Year. In 2016, Green was promoted to assistant principal of Harold C. Johnson Elementary School. She transferred to her current position at Clover High in 2020. During her time at CHS, she was named a South Carolina Association for School Administrator’s Gold and Silver Strand Assistant Principal. She was also a finalist for 2024 SCASA Assistant Principal of the Year.

Green earned a Bachelor of Science in history from Francis Marion University, a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from Winthrop University and an educational specialist degree in educational leadership from Arkansas State University. She will graduate in December 2024 with a Doctor of Education in educational leadership from Arkansas State University.
